Once Permissions Wizard is launched CLICK the NEXT button to begin.
The user will either choose UNCLASSIFIED or CONTROLLED UNCLASSIFIED INFORMATION (CUI) depending on the permissions required for the listing being created.
If the user is unsure which classification type should be utilized for the content, they should contact their organization's security manager for additional assistance.
UNCLASSIFIED (U) indicates the absence of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and classified information. (U) as a portion marking indicates the absence of CUI and classified information. UNCLASSIFIED when not used in a marking, indicates that the information being referred to is not classified, but does not indicate whether or not the information is controlled (CUI) or not. (Definition from National Archives and Record Administration/NARA)
Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) is government created or owned information that requires safeguarding or dissemination controls consistent with applicable laws, regulations and government wide policies. CUI is not classified information. It is not corporate intellectual property unless created for or included in requirements related to a government contract. (Definition from Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency/DCSA) .
CHECK the BOX to certify that the information being uploaded is not considered classified.

Once a selection is made, the user will need to CHECK the BOX at the bottom of the window to certify that the information being uploaded is not considered classified.
CLICK the NEXT button to continue to the next step.
On the DISSEMINATE screen, SELECT the correct DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT for the listing.

When selecting NOT APPLICABLE then NEXT the user will be brought straight to the SUBMIT screen where custom permissions can be selected. If this is the preferred dissemination for the listing, skip to the SUBMIT screen section to learn more.
CLICK the NEXT button to continue to the next step.
On the DISCLOSE screen, SELECT either YES or NO to verify if the Foreign Disclosure Office has approved the content for release to any non-US military members.
CLICK the NEXT button to continue to the final step.
On the SUBMIT screen, review all License and Permission to verify it is accurate.
If changes are required, SELECT either the BACK button to return to the previous step or the RESTART button clear all settings and re-launch the Permissions Wizard.
If DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT F or NOT APPLICABLE was selected on the DISSEMINATE screen. The user will be able to make custom permission selections at this time using the PERMISSIONS TABLE. For more information on customizing permissions, see the section below Modify/Customize Permissions.
The studio group that published the content will be annotated in the user exceptions section (blue banner). For example, the studio group is "Doc Team" in the image below.
Once the information is verified to be accurate, CHECK the BOX to certify the content is ready to share. CLICK the COMPLETE button to save all settings and close the Permissions Wizard.
Once the content is published, permissions can be further modified to set fine grain permissions down to the individual user or organization level.
If Distribution F or if Not Applicable was selected or if the listing was published, permissions can be further modified to set fine grain permissions down to the individual user or organization level.
If already published the user will need to access the Permissions Tab then SELECT the MODIFY button.
Once the Permissions Wizard is launched, CLICK the NEXT button to access the SUBMIT screen.
SELECT the + ICON next to the permissions type that will be customized/modified.

Once selected, SEARCH for USERS by name or studio group. SELECT the + ICON next to the user's name to grant them the desired permission level.
Once the permissions have been granted, the user's profile icon will be displayed in the OTHERS column of the permissions table.
Once all user permissions have been granted and the information is verified to be accurate, CHECK the BOX to certify the content is ready to share.
CLICK the COMPLETE button to save all settings and close the Permissions Wizard.
