How To Add Permissions To Your Listing
Learn how to add permissions to Production listings that existed before the Permissions Wizard was developed and for newly created Production listings.
Note: Permission Wizard only applies to Production listings. Sandbox listings will not display the Permissions tab for launching the Permission Wizard.
This tutorial will walk through how to configure permissions through the Permission Wizard for Production app listings.

- 2.Select your Organization. (Note: If the user logging in is only assigned to one organization MOTAR will auto-select the Organization and route directly to MOTAR Studio.)
- 3.Scroll down to the My Current Listings section to view a list of your production apps.
- 4.Select the edit iconfor the desired app to configure its permissions.
- 5.From the Edit App Listing page, select the Permissions tab.
- 6.Select the Launch iconto run the Permissions Wizard. The Permissions Wizard will open in a new window.

- 2.Select your Organization.(Note: If the user logging in is only assigned to one organization MOTAR will auto-select the Organization and route directly to MOTAR Studio.)
- 3.From the Create New Listing section, select the App icon.
- 4.Populate the Info tab of the Create App Listing page, being sure to select Production as the App Type. If the App Type should be Sandbox then the Permissions Wizard process does not apply.
- 5.Proceed to the Permissions tab by selecting the tab or by selecting the Next iconon the lower right of the screen to go to the SDKs tab and then select the Next iconon the lower right of the screen to go to the Permissions tab.
- 6.Select the Launch iconto run the Permissions Wizard. The Permissions Wizard will open in a new window.

When the Permissions Wizard is launched in a new window, you will be greeted with a Welcome page and your Identified Profile Type. Identified Profile Types include Government and Contractor.
- 1.Select the Next iconon the Welcome page to proceed to the Distribution Statement page.
- 2.Select the applicable Distribution Statement for the content listing.Note: Selecting Not Applicable will result in the next page displaying the following message. "A Distribution Statement is required for sharing content on MOTAR at this time."
- 3.Once the applicable Distribution Statement has been selected, select the Next iconon the Distribution Statement page to proceed to the Classification page.
- 4.Select the radio button associated to the Classification of your listing, either Unclassified or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).Note: Selecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) will result in the next page displaying the following message. "Support for CUI is currently unavailable on our platform. This feature will be available and running soon, until then only unclassified listings can run the Content Sharing Wizard."
- 5.Once the applicable Classification has been selected, select the Next iconon the Classification page to proceed to the Permissions Wizard certification review page.
- 6.Review the permission configuration and upload all necessary and applicable support documents.
- 7.If the permission configuration is not correct, select the Back iconor the Restart iconto update permission configuration settings as outlined in previous steps.
- 8.If the permission configuration is correct, select the checkboxto certify the information is correct and ready to share.
- 9.Once all permission configuration is correct and you have selected the checkbox to certify the information is correct and ready to share, select the Complete iconto finish the Permissions Wizard setup.
- 10.Select the Save icon on the Create App Listing page to save the app.
If you do not select the Save icon, the app creation will not be saved and you will have to start the entire process over.
As of Oct 26, 2022, the Permission Wizard has been updated to include the "Has the Foreign Disclosure Office (FDO) approved the content for release to any non-US military members?" question.
- 1.Select the Next iconon the Welcome page to proceed to the initial Government Contract page.
- 2.Select the radio button based on your listing item being developed under a government contract, either Yes or No.
- 3.Select the Next iconto proceed to the next page.
- 4.Populate the Contract Number field.Note: This field only displays once you select the radio button for contract type.
- 5.Select the Next iconto proceed to the initial Data Rights page.
- 1.Select the radio button regarding SBIR Data Rights applying to your contract, either Yes or No.
- 2.Select the Next iconto proceed to the next page.If you selected Yes, you will be directed to the second Data Rights selection page.If you selected No, you will be directed to the initial Data Rights selection page.
- 3.If you selected Yes in step 1, proceed to step 6.
- 4.If you selected No, select the applicable Data Rights for the listing.
- 5.Select the Next iconto proceed to the next page.
- 6.Select the radio button associated with how permissions should be modified and Creative Commons should be applied to your app.
- 7.Select the Next iconto proceed to the Classification page.
- 8.Select the radio button associated with the Classification of your listing, either Unclassified or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).Note: Selecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) will result in the next page displaying the following message. "Support for CUI is currently unavailable on our platform. This feature will be available and running soon, until then only unclassified listings can run the Content Sharing Wizard."
- 9.Once the applicable Classification has been selected, select the Next iconon the Classification page to proceed to the Permissions Wizard certification review page.
