Register for a MOTAR Account
This section walks a user through creating a MOTAR account using their CAC.
If you do not have a CAC, contact MOTAR Support at [email protected] to register for a MOTAR account.
Please provide us with the following information when you submit your account request.
  • Rank/Grade
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Government Email
  • User Office Symbol
  • AFSC
  • Duty Title
  • Base
  • Date of Birth

Access MOTAR and Log in with CAC

  1. 1.
    Launch motar.io from a supported web browser (Google Chrome or Safari).
  2. 2.
    Select the "CAC" icon.
  3. 3.
    Drag the "Slide to Login" icon.
There are 3 options that can take place after sliding to log in to MOTAR.

CAC Success

If the CAC used to log in is recognized from a previous account association, the user will be logged in normally.

    Select the "Continue To MOTAR" icon to agree to the terms of MOTAR and be directed to MOTAR Portal.

CAC Email Not Recognized

If the email associated with the CAC is not recognized as a user in MOTAR, the screen will display a prompt asking the user if they have a MOTAR account.

    Select the "Yes" icon if the user has a MOTAR account or select the "No" icon if the user does not have a MOTAR account.

Yes, the User Does have a MOTAR Account

By selecting the “Yes” icon the user will be directed to log in with their MOTAR username and password. Their CAC will automatically be associated with their credentials upon logging into MOTAR.

    Populate the Username and Password fields.

    Drag the "Slide to Login" icon.
  3. 3.
    Select the "Continue To MOTAR" icon to agree to the terms of MOTAR and be directed to MOTAR Portal.

No, the User Does Not have a MOTAR Account

By selecting the “No” icon the user will be directed to signup for an account. The platform will detect if their CAC is associated with a contractor or not. There are two paths from this point:
  • the user email address associated with the CAC is recognized, or
  • the email address associated with the CAC is not recognized.
If the email address is recognized, the user will not have to populate their email address in the signup form. If the email address is not recognized, the user will have to populate their email address in the signup form. Once logged in, the user will be directed to MOTAR Portal, with restricted access, until their profile is released from quarantine by a MOTAR administrator.

    Populate all required fields on the signup form.

      If the email address associated with the CAC was not recognized, populate the email address field using the government email address associated with the user's CAC.
  2. 2.
    Select the "Done" icon to submit the form.
  3. 3.
    Select the "Continue To MOTAR" icon to agree to the terms of MOTAR and be directed to MOTAR Portal.

CAC Error

If MOTAR has an error recognizing the CAC used to log in, the user will receive an error log on the screen.
