How To Create Tasks As An Instructor
Learn where to access task creation and how to create a task
Note: The methods for creating tasks as an Instructor also apply to Observers.

Tasks can be generated by instructors through three different methods:
  1. 1.
    Tasking from the Main Toolbar
  2. 2.
    Create Task from the Instructor Dashboard
  3. 3.
    Task Summary on a Student Profile

Tasking can be accessed from the Main Toolbar.

  • Tasking lists all active tasks the signed-in user has created for themselves and others
    • Listed tasks can be viewed, edited, and archived
  • Completed and archived tasks can be viewed by accessing View Archived on Tasking
    • Archived tasks can be made active by selecting the Restore icon
  • New tasks can be created by selecting the Create Task icon

Tasks can be created from the Instructor Dashboard by selecting the Create Task icon
located at the bottom of the page.

Instructors can access Student Profiles for each of the classes assigned to a course under Class Performance on their Instructor Dashboard. The right side of the Student Profile has a Task Summary section.

  • Task Summary lists all active tasks for the student being viewed
    • Listed tasks can be viewed, edited, and completed
  • New tasks can be created by selecting the plus icon
    in the upper right of the Task Summary window or by selecting the plus icon
    in the lower left of the See all pop-up window

Once an instructor accesses the Create Task feature using one of the above methods, they can create a task using the steps below:
  1. 1.
    Populate the Task Details on the Create a Task page and select the Next icon
  2. 2.
    Assign the task to yourself, a student, or the class
  3. 3.
    If the task should be assigned to yourself, select the Skip icon
  4. 4.
    If the task should be assigned to a student, select the Course and then the student(s) within the course
  5. 5.
    If the task should be assigned to the entire class, select the Select the entire class icon
  6. 6.
    Link the task to a module and select the Next icon
  7. 7.
    If the task is not linked to a module, select the Skip icon
  8. 8.
    If an Instructor is required to be present for the task, search for the Instructor in the search bar and select the plus icon
    to the left of their name to add them to the task
  9. 9.
    Once the Instructor is chosen, select the Next icon
  10. 10.
    If an Instructor is not required to be present for the task, select the Skip icon
  11. 11.
    Review the Task Preview and Complete the creation of the task by selecting the Done icon
  12. 12.
    The task is now created and can be viewed, edited, completed, or archived
Note: Time is entered and recorded as Military Time (24-Hour)
